Step One: Submit Your Application
Membership begins with a written application. We ask about your professional context, relationship history, life stage, and the qualities you value in a partner. The questions are open-ended by design - short-answer tests reveal little about how a person actually thinks.
Average review takes three to five business days. Acceptance is not automatic. Our membership team weighs each application against the existing member base, evaluating whether we can meaningfully serve your goals. Applicants seeking casual encounters are politely declined.
You will be asked to declare your relationship intent at the outset: marriage, long-term partnership, or a considered second chapter. That declaration anchors every introduction that follows.

Step Two: NPI Verification And Identity Confirmation
Physician members submit their National Provider Identifier during application. The NPI is the federally-issued identifier used by licensed medical professionals across the United States. We cross-reference each number against the public NPI registry to confirm specialty, licensing state, and active status. The badge cannot be purchased, fast-tracked, or self-declared.
Non-physician applicants - whether allied health professionals or executives in adjacent fields - complete identity verification through government-issued ID matched to a verification selfie. The standard is the same: the person whose photograph appears in the profile is the person who applied.
This step is the foundation of everything that follows. The Verified Doctor badge is the answer to the question every thoughtful single asks before committing emotional energy: is she really a doctor?

You will not be asked to rate appearances or rank deal-breakers. The questions are deliberate: a partner who values your time is more predictive of lasting happiness than a partner who shares your favorite cuisine.

Signature and Concierge tier members may work with a dedicated matchmaker for pre-introduction coaching, conversation framing, and post-date debriefs. It signals to every member that the credentials, specialty, and licensure displayed have been authenticated against the federal NPI registry - not self-declared, not crowd-verified, not assumed from a photograph in scrubs.
The verification process protects every member from the two most common failure modes of mass dating platforms: catfish profiles and the “almost a doctor” misrepresentation. Both erode trust before a first conversation has even begun.
Members may verify their badge once and never need to repeat the process. We retain only the data necessary to maintain the integrity of the registry, and the badge itself is the only public marker - your NPI number is never displayed.

Can I pause my membership?
Yes. Members may pause active matching at any time - during demanding rotations, board exam preparation, or personal travel - without forfeiting their profile or compatibility data. A simple message to the concierge desk is sufficient.
What happens if a match does not lead anywhere?
Signature and Concierge members receive a post-introduction debrief with their matchmaker, who refines your match parameters based on what you learned. Standard members may also request a free recalibration of their compatibility profile at any time.
Is the platform available outside the United States?
At present, LovePsychology serves verified members across the United States, with growing reach into Canada. International expansion is planned but not yet active. NPI verification is currently U.S.-specific.
